Somewhat unbelievably, I've reached the part in my Korean vacation where there are only two more weeks left. Where has the time gone? It really does feel like the home stretch in more than a few ways now. People have been starting to ask me what I would like to do on my last weekend here. The plan for the moment is: Seoul next weekend and then to go to Kyungju and Busan on my last weekend. The Monday after that will be spent making sure I'm completely packed and that any other last minute preparations have been taken care of.
Another weird thing is that I've been trying to manage the amount of food I have so that I run out the last day I'm here. That is a fucked up feeling. I just went to E-Mart today, maybe for the last time (for food anyway). I know I have enough spaghetti and a box of Kraft Dinner that I've been saving to last me through next week. I picked up some organic Kimchi flavoured noodles to help me make it through next week. The amount of eggs I have should be perfect given that I usually eat one a day and will likely be eating out more at the end of this trip.
A couple of things have fallen by the wayside. The most important one is my budget. I'm basically going to close this pay perioud with 500,000 won or more. I wanted to save around 800,000. But at the same time, I shouldn't feel bad about using the money since it's not every day that you find yourself in Korea. My budget was only ever a loose thing anyway. So I might take home $1500-1800 in total. This is not that great as I'll end up blowing $200 on getting wasted with people when I get back. I want to buy a lot of new video games which will put me back some money. If I can find the right deal, I would like to get a sweet HD TV for a reasonable price. Conclusion: I will soon be poor. At least I won't have rent to pay when I get back. In fact, the only bill I will have is my phone bill. I aim to spend a few weeks relaxing before I figure out my next move.
This weekend was a quiet one. I got anihilated drunk on Friday and saw Inception last night with some friends. Tonight, we're getting together at a restaurant downtown to have some birthday dinner for Stacey. It should be a good time.
The major updates are yet to come. Expect massive amounts of pictures to come after next weekend. In the meantime, I will spend my time having fun, getting my affairs in order, and finding any last minute keepsakes.
