Well, this week was set at a distinctly different pace than others. It simply flew by.
This past week the middle school students had school tests (which will cascade into this week as well), which meant that class sizes were small or non-existant. In the latter case, we got breaks.
The week, as a whole, went by very fast because everything seemed different - and perhaps more liad back than it usually is. Every day felt like Monday in the sense that it felt like the week was just beginning. Needless to say, this made me pretty happy.
The rest of the week was business as usual with a few minor exceptions like going out to celebrate a coworker's birthday on Wednesday night.
The weekend saw Nick and I joining Alex and Krissi for galbi (Korean barbeque) on Friday night and then turning in early. The rest of MoonKkang had to go to a mandatory meeting on Saturday morning. I, however, did not have to go since I am leaving the country within eight weeks. Saturday brought us to Beomeo (pronounced "BoMo," ignore the "e"s for no apparent reason) for some Indian and then downtown to watch the game and to give Aiden's girlfriend, Maire (apparently pronounced something close to "Moyra", yeah, they're Irish), a good first night out in Korea. All in all, it seemed to be a pretty good success.
During the week, I also found a little bit of inspiration to write in my novel. I'm currently working on chapters four and five and could have them done anytime in the next little while.
I really do seem to love writing. It's such a rewarding experience and seems to be the only way I can remotely express the things that are in my head. It's like the paper is the canvas, my ideas are the paint, and my pencil (or keyboard) is the paint brush. There's logic in there too: restrictions like trying to follow the rules of English. For that reason, it's almost like a puzzle as well. If you know anything about me it's that I'm a big fan of puzzles and putting things together.
Anyway, that's about it for the update. Time is really flying by now and I basically only have a month left in Korea. I'd reckon things are about to heat up a little bit!
Until next time!
